Welcome
Dear Participants,
On behalf of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, we are pleased to announce that the 14th annual Wharton Asia Business Conference (WABC) will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2008, at Park Hyatt, Philadelphia, USA. In conjunction, the WABC Career Fair will be held on Friday, November 7th, 2008, on campus at Jon M. Huntsman Hall. We hope that you will join us in organizing a weekend of immense value to the Asian business community.
The theme for the 2008 conference is "Repositioning Asia to take the Global Lead". This year's conference intends to explore past, present and future strategies and practices of expanding Asian businesses, as well as the potential risks and rewards that lie ahead in the road towards globalization. Through this discussion we aim to foster opportunities and knowledge exchange to all participants.
With the Wharton School being consistently ranked as one of the top business schools in the world and past Wharton Asia Business Conferences attracting hundreds of students from over 26 surrounding business schools and universities, WABC provides an excellent platform for you or your organization to interact with students and professionals who have keen business and career interests in Asia. Last year alone, the conference registered a record attendance of nearly 500 participants and invited distinguished keynotes such as Kenneth Koo, Co-Head of Asia Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions, Citigroup, and Renato De Guzman, CEO, ING Private Bank, to speak at our ever-growing event.
This year we have expanded our Career Fair’s capacity and expect to register over 1,000 students and professionals from over 60 schools and firms. The Career Fair is an integral part of WABC, and we are seeking top multinational firms to present opportunities to undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students from numerous top tier institutions across the country.
Building on the tremendous success of the 2007 WABC and Career Fair, we are excited to present you with a number of new initiatives this year. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us in partnership and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
David Chen & Zhengyan Chua
