Leanne Tobias

Leanne Tobias is founder and principal of Malachite LLC, an advisory firm that specializes in the development, leasing, management and financing of sustainable or green real estate on a global basis. She brings over 20 years of institutional real estate investment and management experience to the sustainable real estate field, and is one of the few real estate investment experts who has been designated as a LEED Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council. In addition to her work with private real estate and investment clients, Leanne is a sought-after international speaker, who has lectured on sustainable real estate investment for the United Nations, Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, Investment and Pensions Europe, the Urban Land Institute, Princeton University, the U.S. Green Building Council and others. Leanne also has been an advisor to the new Green Building Finance Consortium and to Building Design and Construction Magazine. Green real estate projects for which Leanne provided investment financing and management have been featured in a documentary on American television.
Leanne was previously Managing Director of the Multi-Employer Property Trust, a multi-billion dollar commercial real estate equity fund; headed the real estate operations of the AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust; and directed programs for capital markets and institutional lenders at the Mortgage Bankers Association. She holds an MBA from Wharton Business School and an MPA degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
