Mark Renton

Mr. Renton has been Head of Global Investment Banking, Asia Pacific since January 2005 and has been with Citigroup for over 20 years.  He is based in Hong Kong and has responsibility for Citigroup’s investment banking activities in the region.

Previously, Mr. Renton spent ten years in and latterly headed the Firm’s Energy Group in North America.  Based in New York, he led new business development and account coverage in the energy sector.  He was responsible for several marquee financings and advisory assignments for the leading participants in the sector.  Notable transactions included advising Dresser Industries on its merger with Halliburton Company and ConocoPhillips on its investment in Lukoil.

Prior to joining one of Citigroup’s predecessor firms, Salomon Brothers in 1987, he qualified as a chartered accountant in the United Kingdom and worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. in London for four years.

Born in England, Mr. Renton graduated from Oxford University in 1981 and received an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1987.
