Dr. Franklin Yang

Dr. Franklin Yang is responsible for the management of Xinhua FTSE Index Limited, a joint venture between Xinhua Finance and FTSE Group. He brings to the company over 10 years of rich expertise in the fields of business management, investment and consulting.

Prior to joining Xinhua FTSE Index, Dr. Yang was the president and founder of ESSIN Investments, an investment and fund management company, where he designed and developed proprietary trading system and initiated hedge fund operations in China and active trade in China's equity, commodity and ETF products.  Prior to founding ESSIN, he had worked for four years at Caxton Associates in New York, then the world’s largest hedge fund company, and managed diversified portfolios and funds covering derivative products. Before that, Dr. Yang worked at Ernst & Young in New York for three years, providing financial advisory services for Wall Street financial institutions.

Dr. Yang graduated from Tsinghua University and received his Master's degree from Boston University and doctorate in Economics majoring in Finance from Renmin University. He holds the certificate of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) issued by Global Association of Risk Professionals.
