Soomin Kim is a partner in Bain & Company’s Seoul office.  

He is the leader of the Private Equity and M&A practice in Seoul office and a member of the Global Financial Service Practice. 

He joined Bain & Company Korea as an associate consultant in 1995. Prior to joining Bain, Mr. Kim worked at Procter & Gamble Korea.   

Mr. Kim has served clients in various industries including banking, asset management, credit card, private equity, life insurance, construction & real estate, and airlines. His consulting experience includes M&A, corporate strategy, CRM & marketing strategy, channel & salesforce management, and supply chain management. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Kim worked at Mergers & Acquisition and Corporate Finance group of Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and New York, where he advised major global companies on M&A, corporate financing, and credit rating projects.  He rejoined Bain & Company in 2002 as a case team leader and was promoted to manager in 2003 and to partner in 2006.  Mr. Kim earned an MBA with concentrations in finance and general management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Seoul National University.
