Welcome
Dear Prospective Conference Participants,
Since 1995, the Wharton Asia Business Conference has been aiming to provide a comprehensive coverage of current trends in the dynamic economies of Asia. Every year, we bring together prominent business leaders and students from top-tier business schools for a full day of in-depth discussions pertaining to exciting business and economic developments in Asia. Since its inauguration, the conference has more than doubled in size and has attracted prominent speakers such as Mr. Dow Kim from Merrill Lynch, Mr. Chang Sun from Warburg Pincus, and Mr. Masamoto Yashiro from Shinshei Bank.
This year, we are delighted to bring you the 13th annual Wharton Asia Business Conference, Rediscovering Risks and Rewards in Asia. Asia's development over the last several decades has by and large been a story of growth and prosperity. Yet, the Asian financial crisis in 1997 reminded investors around the world of the inherent risks in doing business in these emerging markets. Ten years later, Asia has re-emerged as the world's growth engine, with the region's economies once again reaching new heights. Set against the backdrop of a growing Asia that begins to exert its business and political influence around the world, this conference aims to explore both the new opportunities and challenges faced by global business leaders in a wealthier and ever more integrated Asia.
Our co-production model draws its success from the dedication and support not only from Wharton students, but also from the school administration, business leaders, and corporate sponsors. We have an exciting plan this year and we certainly anticipate working with our partners to build on the past successes of the Wharton Asia Business Conference.
Thank you. We look forward to having you at our conference!
Sincerely,
Eric Liu (MBA Co-Chair)
Dayea Yeon (UG Co-Chair)
